‘The St. Louis Sessions’ sees Blue Earth Sound return with a spontaneous, groove-driven EP rooted in cinematic jazz, instrumental soul and warm analogue textures. Recorded in a living-room studio in St. Louis with local musicians, the project captures a raw, collaborative approach, blending live instrumentation with subtle post-production.
Built around deep bass grooves, Wurlitzer keys, clean guitar lines and expressive horn arrangements from saxophonist Jawaad Spaan and trumpeter Josiah Burton, the record moves fluidly between jazz, soul and beat-informed production. The result is a rich, late-night listening experience that sits comfortably alongside the new wave of groove-led, crate-digger-friendly jazz.
Following the success of the debut album 'Cicero Nights', which sold out across multiple pressings, ‘The St. Louis Sessions’ continues to build on Blue Earth Sound’s growing reputation within the global cinematic jazz and instrumental scene, with support from BBC Radio 3, BBC 6 Music and KEXP.
